Then have a good old fashioned manual tensioner on the top idler. that runs on the outside of the belt. Or even a spring with a bolt on the inside, so instead of a direct clamping.

1 Reply. Yours has a chain. Easy way to check is to look at the side of the engine furthest from the gearbox. If it has a black plastic cover extending all the way down it will be a timing belt.
